Love List: Holiday 2019 Decor

Photography by Celine Richardson

Cue major excitement, because holiday season is here! Our household loves Christmas so much we put our tree up in the month of November!

A little Pinterest digging gave me a hint that the colour theme for the 2019 holidays is Mulberry. I love changing up the tree, even if it’s just a couple sets of decorations, so that it feels new and special each year. Our previous themes have included mixed metals, black & white, and last year’s rose gold.

To be mindful of our consumption and waste, I reused gold ribbon and a few ornaments from previous years. The main new addition is a beautiful fabric I found at a local fabric store—in the Mulberry I saw pop up all over the city, of course. A box of new ornaments finished this year’s tree off. One day there’ll be enough stockpiled in the collection that we won’t have to buy any more decorations—we can just mix and match in different combinations for an always fresh vibe.

With our new home, we’re so grateful to have a fireplace! I’ve always wanted to dress a mantle, especially with Christmas stockings!

Since we have more space, I also wanted to obtain a few timeless Holiday pieces. I went to a local decor store, Kerrisdale Lumber, and found the cutest Christmas items!

I admit, I might’ve went a little overboard with Ollie’s tiny tree!
